Merry Christmas
Before I start Merry Christmas. I bet there are many people reading this are looking forward to 2021 and the end of the coronavirus. Like many this year, I lost my Father, sent home from the hospital as the beds filled with COVID patients. Workwise it has not been a great year either. A contract ended prematurely in February. I was on the brink of landing a new contract when coronavirus kicked in. The benefits were I didn’t need to get up. We had a hot sunny summer. let’s not forget I wrote a novelette, Confessions, Lies and Family Ties.
I am now on the verge of releasing a third story. It has had three changes of title: the first title, The Street Kidd. Thinking about the story, there is a street Kidd, based on the characters name, Police Constable Danny Kidd. He goes undercover to track a serial killer known as The Skinner. However, he doesn’t play a major role. I do confess that when the story came to mind, I did toy with the title ‘The Skinner.’
In October a friend of mine Angela Delglyn designed the cover under the title ‘The Priest’. The main character is a priest named Father Eoin O’Brien. Don’t be fooled by the religious title because what he gets up to is not religious and not particularly wholesome. I’m now thinking of new titles.
- ‘The Hand of the Priest‘ or,
- The Priest’s Hand‘. or wait for it,
- ‘The Hand of God.’
With such a title it may attract a whole new breed of readership. The story isn’t about a gentle Priest delivering sacraments to the dying.
I need to think another day or so about the title before we redesign the cover. or the title. To conclude I have other stories in mind namely The Return; The Drop and others.
Anyway I shall sign off and wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
